Involving a complex sale-and-lease-back operation, independent initiation of the project team joined Kurakawa Kisho Architects, Mori Building Developers and Obayashi Contractors involved extensive coordination as interface between the Belgian foreign ministry, Japanese project-partners and the local Tokyo-Nibancho city council.
As chief architect and project coordinator, the foreign ministry and investors exigencies for a state-of-the-art Embassy & Commercial and Office Land-mark Facilities resulted in an optimal interpretation of building regulation, featuring two distinctive and ideally oriented twin-building; the Embassy (18.000 m2) and Third party Office Complex (38.000 m2). An intersecting interior street enabled multiple public entrances while linking the building to Nibancho’s existing green network.
